You can’t move unless you’re given power. Even if you move, you can’t travel very far. Everything in life is brought about, and sustained by power. You obtain wealth by power and you need power to retain it (Deuteronomy 8:18). There is also the power to trample on serpents and scorpions i.e., dark powers (Luke 10:18).

Because power is determined by personal criteria, it is difficult to define. However, we can call it the ability to perform or achieve anything. There are various forms of power, but for our discussion today, we are focusing on spiritual power.
One of the fundamentals of power is that when an inferior one comes into contact a greater, the lesser power must know. Our generation has forgotten the value of power, which has resulted in the notorious level of impotence we see in our Christian lives.
A young man of God, Apostle Ayo Babalola, once lived in this Nigeria back in the years when darkness was still in control to a large extent. It was a time when witchcraft was practiced in its raw form and humans were living as walking altars. Apostle Ayo Babalola was ministering in a city in Ondo state and he prayed on a stream that was known to be infested with Guinea Worm. People went to the river to drink the water and instead of them to come down with diseases, they got healed of whatever sicknesses they had. It was so much that people drank the stream till it became dry, and hospitals were emptied as a result of that. Interestingly, Apostle Ayo Babalola was just in his mid-twenties when all of these happened in Nigeria.
Our generation has lost touch with these levels of power and we need to really hunger for it. Of course, we do not experience darkness in its crude form like our great grandfathers did, but that doesn’t mean the devil has gone to sleep. He has only rebranded his activities. Witches are no longer old women in rags. They’re now dressed in the latest Gucci, and wearing the latest perfumes.
2024 is upon us, and while you may be hoping that things will change for the better by next year, the truth is, nothing will improve in 2024 if you do not have power. It is power alters the game. You must have the power to rise.
