Dealing with Evil Family Patterns.

Key text: 2 Kings 21:19-21

The Bible is filled with events, attitude and characters that were repeated in the lives of people from the same lineage.

Just as blessings can be transferred from generation to generation, so are curses and evil patterns.

These evil patterns can be as a result of evil covenants or sins.

In Hebrews 12:1, Paul calls them besetting sins. These sins can reside in bloodlines.

For example, Abraham had an affinity for beautiful women, was fearful, and also lied (Genesis 12). This pattern was also seen in his son Isaac (Genesis 26:7) and in his grandson, Jacob (Genesis 29:10-11,16-17). His great grandson also repeated the trait, Reuben (Genesis 49:3).

Several generations later, the same trait was seen in Abraham’s descendant, David (1Samuel 11:1-2), and also Solomon in an even greater dimension.

Furthermore, In Matthew 22:25-26, there was a woman who had been married seven times, and all her husbands died each time she got married. This is another example of evil pattern.

As we said previously, in our last sermon, there’s nothing like coincidence in the spiritual realm.

If you do not deal with these evil patterns, these patterns will deal with you.
